Thanks to the renovation and Mr Singh ji's video on youtube, this dish has become a regular in our house :). An easy dish which can be eaten as one pot meal or with any curry or raita of your choice.
Ingredients
Onions: 2; finely sliced
Green Chilli: 3; finely chopped (adjust as per taste)
Tomatoes: 2; cubed
Cumin Seeds: 1 teaspoon
Oil: 1 tablespoon
Rice: 2 cups
Yellow Moong Dal: 1 cup
Spinach: 1 bunch; finely chopped
Turmeric Powder: ½ teaspoon
Ginger Garlic Paste: 1 teaspoon
Salt: to taste
Water: 6-7 cups of waters (depends on the consistency required)
1. In the microwave oven cooker, mix sliced onions, chopped chilies, cubed tomatoes, cumin seeds and oil. Cover with lid and microwave for two minutes.
2. Slightly mash the cooked ingredients.
3. Add soaked rice and dal along with chopped spinach, salt, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste. Add water, mix well and microwave for 20 minutes.
4. Leave in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove the lid carefully and mix gently. Serve hot with any curry or raita of your choice.
